Stephen Gibson, MS, BCBA
Stephen is a behavior analyst, mental health therapist, and
the director of the neurodevelopmental disability program
at GPS Psychology and Anxiety Clinic. He has a passion for
working with individuals with autism and helping them
reach their full potential. He also finds immense value in
providing parents with positive parenting tools that can be
use to strengthen and increase desirable behaviors in their
children while decreasing or eliminating the problem
behaviors. He believes that the key to lasting behavior
change is when positive approaches are consistently
implemented in all meaningful environments of a child’s
development, most importantly in the home.
Stephen earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in
education from Boise State University and was a Title I
teacher for ten years. Approximately forty percent of his
students were in special education and required various
accomodations and learning supports. He earned another
master’s degree in behavioral psychology from University
of Southern Maine and is a Board Certified Behavior
Analyst Most importantly, Stephen is the lucky husband to
a beautiful wife and the proud father of three daughters.
In addition to intervention plans and parenting
consultation, Stephen also provides behavioral health
counseling services with a focus in cognitive behavioral
and acceptance & commitment therapies to patients of
all ages who have anxiety disorders, depression, addictions,
family/relationship challenges, and/or trauma.
